Tesla has opened a new 12-stall Supercharger in Kingston, Ontario, on Highway 15 just north of Highway 401. @TeslaCharging announced the site on X on the evening of Wednesday, October 21, listing it as “Kingston, ON – Highway 15.”
Kingston Supercharger at a glance
Tesla’s post did not list charging speeds. According to Supercharger tracker tesla-chargers.com:
- Location: 1636 Highway 15, Kingston, at an A&W restaurant
- Stalls: 12 V4 stalls with a peak of 325 kW
- Access: open to non-Tesla EVs, with one accessible stall
- Nearby: the existing Kingston Supercharger on Dalton Avenue is about 6 km away
Tracker details can lag, so check the Tesla app or your car’s navigation for live stall status and pricing before you go.
Why it matters on the 401
Kingston sits roughly halfway between Toronto and Montreal and about 200 km southwest of Ottawa, TeslaNorth notes. Highway 15 runs north toward Smiths Falls and the Ottawa area, so drivers heading to the capital get another option. Kingston already had Supercharging, but 12 more stalls should help on holiday weekends, when lineups at smaller 401 sites can get long.
The site took a while. Drive Tesla Canada reported that it first appeared on Tesla’s map as “in development” in October 2024, vanished that December, returned in September 2025, and was under construction earlier this year.
What about the payment kiosk?
On October 12, Drive Tesla Canada reported that Supercharger tracker MarcoRP photographed a standalone card-payment kiosk at a Kingston Supercharger that was still waiting to be energized. It was the first publicly documented Tesla payment kiosk in Canada. Tesla has not said whether card payments are live in Kingston or what kiosk pricing will be in Canada. We covered the kiosks in more detail in our Supercharger payment kiosk story.
The network keeps growing
Tesla’s Q3 2026 update shows 8,904 Supercharger stations and 84,465 connectors worldwide at the end of September, up from 8,704 stations and 82,357 connectors at the end of June. In Canada, Drive Tesla reports that Tesla has also proposed a two-to-four-stall Supercharger in Inuvik, which would be the first in the Northwest Territories. That project still needs town approval.
