Halloween is a week away, and Tesla’s spookiest software feature is reaching a lot more cars. Update 2026.38.3.2, which carries Halloween Mode, started a wider rollout on Friday, October 23. Tesla is also hosting “Electric Summon” Halloween events at stores across North America today, Saturday, October 24.
A bigger wave of 2026.38.3.2
Fleet tracker @teslascope posted on Friday at about 2:00 PM ET that 2026.38.3.2 was rolling out to roughly 5,720 more vehicles within five minutes. Tesla first released the update on October 22, according to Not a Tesla App. Canada is on the list: Teslascope’s update page shows Canada at about 5% of pending installs.
What Halloween Mode does
Halloween Mode first appeared on 2026.38.3 earlier this month. Per the release notes, it lets you:
- Put a Ghost Costume on your car’s on-screen visualization
- Turn on Trick or Treat Mode, which plays spooky sounds and flickers the lights when visitors walk up
- Schedule a Halloween light show
- Turn the car into a “chilling” Photobooth
Drive Tesla Canada also reports themed wraps, a new lock sound and a remote creepy voice you can broadcast through the Tesla app.
Which cars get it
The release notes list Halloween Mode for cars with AMD Ryzen infotainment: Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck and the newer Model S and Model X. Not a Tesla App reports that older Intel-based cars only get the Halloween wraps and licence plates, not the full mode.
The update also brings Emergency Drive Away (shift into Drive with a Supercharger cable still attached, for emergencies only), Set Arrival Energy from the phone app, sharper car visuals for AMD Model 3 and Model Y with HW3, and Supercharger site maps for Intel cars.
FSD owners are covered too
Cars on the FSD branch don’t miss out. The notes for 2026.38.5.10, which brings FSD (Supervised) v14.3.13 and v14.3 Lite, also include Halloween Mode. We covered that update in our FSD v14.3.13 Canada rollout story. As usual, updates arrive in waves, so tap Software on your touchscreen to see what your car has.
Electric Summon events today
Tesla’s event listing for Tesla Vancouver runs from 4 PM to 6 PM local time today and promises family activities, seasonal refreshments, a Halloween Mode activity card, frunk-or-treating and a costume contest with a prize. Owners are encouraged to decorate their frunks and hand out candy. Space is limited, so Tesla asks guests to RSVP. We couldn’t confirm an Ontario store on the list when we checked, so look for one near you at tesla.com/en_ca/events.
