Tesla has locked in a livestream time for its long-delayed next-generation Roadster demonstration. Late Monday, the official Tesla account posted that the Roadster event will stream live this Thursday at 7:55 p.m. CST — 8:55 p.m. Eastern / Toronto time on October 15, 2026.
The outdoor demo was originally set for October 1 near Waco, Texas, then postponed after Tesla said the show could only be held outdoors and weather forced a two-week delay. Elon Musk quoted Tesla’s announcement with “Timing is everything,” underscoring that the company still intends to put the car in front of cameras this week.
What we know so far
This is not a typical indoor reveal. Coverage from Electrek and Not a Tesla App points to an outdoor demonstration tied to SpaceX cold-gas thrusters — the same tech Musk has linked to extreme acceleration claims and earlier “flying” demos. Reports describe a scaled-back, remote-operated short hover rather than a street-legal production car handoff.
The in-person event remains invite-only for Roadster reservation holders. Tesla has not yet published a separate YouTube or Tesla.com player link; the stream is expected on Tesla’s X account, where the schedule post landed. Reservation deposits have been reopened in some markets as a separate line from the demo itself.
Why it matters for Canadian owners
The Roadster has been in reservation limbo since the 2017 prototype reveal, with production targets slipping repeatedly. Canadian reservation holders — and anyone watching Tesla’s high-performance plans — finally have a clock on the next public demo. Pricing, production start, and what happens to older deposits are still open questions Tesla may address Thursday night.
Watch Tesla on X Thursday evening for the stream link as it goes live. We’ll follow up after the event with what was actually shown versus what was teased.
