Tesla Sets Dec. 3 Shareholder Meeting: What Canadian Investors Need to Know

Tesla will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, December 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time (4:00 p.m. ET), online and in person at Gigafactory Texas. If you own TSLA shares through a Canadian brokerage, here is what is on the Tesla 2026 shareholder meeting ballot and how to vote.

Tesla announced the date on X on October 19 and filed its definitive proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission the same day. “This year, we’re asking you to vote ‘FOR’ all three proposals on the ballot,” the company wrote.

Three proposals on the Tesla 2026 shareholder meeting ballot

The agenda lists three company proposals, and Tesla’s board recommends voting for all of them:

  1. Re-electing Elon Musk, board chair Robyn Denholm and co-founder JB Straubel as Class I directors for three-year terms.
  2. A non-binding advisory “say-on-pay” vote approving 2025 executive compensation.
  3. Ratifying PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as Tesla’s independent auditor for 2026.

How Canadian shareholders can vote

You can vote if you owned Tesla shares at the close of business on October 13, 2026. Most retail investors hold shares in “street name” through a broker or bank. In that case, your voting instructions and 16-digit control number come from your broker, not from Tesla. Tesla said on X that voting instructions and control numbers would “follow soon.”

The voting notice sets the deadline at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 2, 2026. Tesla’s proxy solicitor, Innisfree M&A, takes shareholder questions at +1 (877) 717-3936, a number Tesla lists for both the U.S. and Canada. Tesla is also promoting a no-fee Voluntary Retail Voting Program for retail investors.

Want to attend at Giga Texas?

In-person seats are limited, so Tesla is holding a random drawing. Entries close Friday, November 6, at 11:59 p.m. CT (12:59 a.m. ET on November 7). Winners must show valid government-issued ID, selections can’t be transferred, and Tesla expects to start notifying attendees the week of November 16.

Everyone else can watch the public webcast, or join the virtual meeting at virtualshareholdermeeting.com/TSLA2026 with a control number to vote and submit written comments.

What Tesla is highlighting

In her letter to shareholders, Denholm points to Cybercab production starting at Giga Texas, Robotaxi expanding to more U.S. cities and more than 10 million vehicles delivered. Tesla’s VoteTesla site also claims nearly 1.5 million paid FSD (Supervised) customers worldwide and more than 15 billion cumulative FSD miles.

The vote comes right after Tesla reports Q3 2026 results on October 21. Catch up on our Q3 earnings preview and how to submit questions, and why Musk says Optimus and Cybercab are most of Tesla’s value.
