For about a day, it looked like Canadians might be getting a much better Model 3. On Monday, October 26, Tesla’s Canadian website suddenly listed the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive with up to 584 km of EPA-estimated range and a 5.2-second 0-100 km/h time. By Tuesday morning, those numbers were gone again.
What changed, and what changed back
The new figures were first flagged on X by @RJTesla and quickly picked up by Electrek and Drive Tesla Canada. Until then, the trim had been listed at 463 km and 6.2 seconds.
The 584 km and 5.2-second figures are an exact match for the Fremont-built Model 3 Long Range RWD that Tesla sold in Canada starting in October 2024. They also line up with the 363-mile (584 km) range Tesla advertises for the U.S.-built Model 3 Premium RWD. That sparked speculation that Tesla might start shipping U.S.-built cars north again.
On Tuesday, October 27, Drive Tesla reported that the Canadian site was back to 463 km and 6.2 seconds. Eletric-vehicles.com found the old specs restored on the English and French pages and on the comparison page. The listed curb weight, 1,745 kg, never changed. Tesla has not commented publicly on either change.
Why it matters for Canadian buyers
You still can’t order a Model 3 Premium here. Tesla paused Model 3 Premium orders on October 12, and the banner on the configurator still says ordering resumes if the federal government issues more import quota for China-built EVs, expected in March 2027. The Premium RWD is still shown greyed out “from $39,490.”
A Fremont-built car would get around the quota, but it would face Canada’s 25% counter-tariff on U.S.-made vehicles, in force since April 9, 2025. For now, the only Model 3 Canadians can order is the Performance, listed at $74,990 with 528 hp and 509 km of range, according to Eletric-vehicles.com.
This is not the first time the Canadian site has wobbled. @DriveTeslaca counted several corrections this year. In May alone, the same car’s 0-100 km/h time went from 4.2 to 5.2 to 6.2 seconds, and peak Supercharging dropped from 250 kW to 175 kW. So for now, treat Monday’s 584 km listing as a website error, not a promise.
