A little preparation makes the first week easier. Use your vehicle’s current owner’s manual as the source for model-specific instructions.
Start with the basics
- Set up your Tesla account and phone key, and carry a working key card as a backup.
- Learn how to adjust mirrors, seats, wipers, lights, and climate controls before driving.
- Check which features and driver assistance options your vehicle actually has.
Build a charging routine
Locate the charging guidance in your vehicle’s manual and on its charging screen. Find nearby charging options and make a backup plan for your regular routes. If installing home charging, have a qualified electrician assess the work.
Use the community well
Include your model year, software version, and relevant photos when asking a question. Hide personal details in screenshots. For warnings or repairs, use the vehicle’s official support and service channels.
